About 45 RPM Quartet

Who Are We?

45 RPM is a fun loving barbershop quartet from Central Iowa and we love to sing all kinds of music. We have performed at several places in the Des Moines area from the AE and Bill Riley stages at the Iowa State Fair to Hoyt Sherman Theater. We have performed along with Simon Estes and Cloris Leachman and are honored to be singing with Jim Freeman of the Five Satins.

We enjoy singing close harmony, and from our name, you can tell we especially like the "oldies but goodies."

We would love to sing for your next event so contact us for that special birthday, retirement, you name it. See our "contact us" link.

He has been in the Pride of Iowa Barbershop Chorus about 10 years and enjoys golf, gardening, and his grandchildren.

Mike Dunn (bass) has been married to his wife Rhonda for 40 years, has two sons and five grandchildren. He resides in Ankeny Iowa. Mike works along side our lead Glen in the Food Brokerage business, yes a couple of the middle men. Besides singing in the Pride of Iowa Barbershop Chorus, Mike's hobbies are woodworking, golf and an occasional fishing trip to Canada with his boys.,

Robert Uy (tenor) has been singing from a very young age in his native Canada to his 12 years as a barbershopper. Bob is a classically trained pianist and is also adept at playing the guitar and soprano and alto recorders. These he puts to good use in his other music group, Orckes & Trolles, which has been performing at many Renaissance and Celtic festivals for the past 20 years.
45 RPM is Bob's second registered quartet. He originally sang tenor in Sound Mechanics (2005 Central States District 12th place quartet). And he still sings with the Pride of Iowa Chorus in Des Moines.
Bob is a 21-year theatre veteran who has been in stage productions such as Guys and Dolls, Forever Plaid, and The Music Man (twice in the barbershop quartet!). Other hobbies include comic books, anime, and karaoke. "Wow! I'm such a nerd. (And proud of it.)" In his mundane job, Bob is a college mathematics teacher.

Greg Long (baritone) resides in Johnston, IA and has been married to Cheryl for 26 years. They have one adult son. In addition to the quartet, Greg loves to sing with the Pride of Iowa Barbershop Chorus and is currently their president. In his "spare" time he also likes to fly, hike, bike, ski and tinker with ham radios, computers and electronics.
